Yellowlees Douglas, PhD
I live for coaching, consulting, and mentoring educators at all levels and across all roles. I also bring a long and deep background to virtually every aspect of writing. Name a writing course or grade level, and I’ve probably taught it—from primary grades and ESL students to late-career professionals seeking post-graduate degrees in business, entrepreneurship, and biomedicine. I’ve also designed writing programs, curriculums, and assessments in a range of programs.
Yet, until I discovered the ReadersBrain® Method, I usually ended my semesters of teaching convinced I should refund my students’ tuition—no matter how much students valued my writing courses. But, after I developed the ReadersBrain® Method, even my most resistant students could see how dramatically their writing had changed. Decades after their writing courses, professionals in education, business, and medicine tell me my course made the biggest impact on their careers. Moreover, every instructor who taught with the ReadersBrain® Method also transformed their students’ writing.
My research has resulted in over fifty publications and four books, all focusing on reading and writing. My research has also appeared in Psychology Today, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Boston Globe, The Huffington Post, and on National Public Radio.
You can see the full monty version of my career and research here.
